What Do People Have To Say About
Circles Of Blessing:Redemption In the Rainforest?
The reader is quickly drawn along on the journey with Dave and Kathy as they bring the
Gospel to the Kayagar people. Dave's storytelling skills quickly immerse the reader in
village life. One can almost hear, see, and smell the surroundings as the hand hewn long
boats paddle up the river towards the Tucker's home. One also observes the faith walk as
this couple seeks to faithfully live Christ in a dark place. You also join in the praise
as the Kayagar people transition from their cycle of fear to a circle of blessing.
Dr. Elizabeth Lightbody, Professor of Missions and Evangelism,
Moody Bible Institute.
Circles of Blessing: Redemption in the Rain Forest is the wonderful story of God's
redemptive work among the Kayagar people of Irian Jaya. Told by a gifted storyteller,
it illustrates how God uses missionaries with all of our strengths and weaknesses to
bring the gospel to the nations. It is a story of human weakness and divine power.
The book follows in the genre of Peace Child. It is autobiographical and told in the first
person. It relates in dialogue and story form how God brings the light of the gospel to
those who for centuries have lived in darkness. It is a thrilling account of a "people
movement."
Circles of Blessing: Redemption in the Rain Forest is full of missiological insights,
often gained by simply watching God at work! It shows how God used zealous, pioneering,
impatient young missionaries to bring His message to the Kayagar people. We often learn
more by our mistakes than in any other way! It traces the circles of blessings in the
author's life and shows how God blessed him through others, and how he in turn reached
a people who were totally unreached.
That is not the end of the story. The Kayagar people are now taking the gospel to their
neighbors and even their former enemies. The Circles of Blessing continue. This is a good
read and does not hide mistakes and failures while also showing the triumph of the gospel.
God uses those who obediently venture forth to the ends of the earth to continue the
Circles of Blessing.
Read, be challenged, and blessed!

General Director, SEND International
David Tucker is a good missionary and storyteller. In this
brief autobiographical account of his ministry among the Kayagar and Autohoim in Irian
Jaya, you will not only become involved with the stories, but with good missionary work.
As you read Circles of Blessing: Redemption in the Rain Forest, you will come to grips
with faith and doubt, understanding and misunderstanding, good intuition and mistakes,
victory and defeat, the human and the divine. You will feel like a front row observer in
the remote village of Kawem. The book is written for the general audience, but Sunday
school teachers and parents will also want to take the opportunity to read this story out
loud to their children.
David appears in these pages exactly as I know him in our day-to-day working relationship.
He came to wrok in the U.S. Office of SEND International in early 1994 as our Director
of Recruitment. Currently he leads in the areas of training and short term ministries.
He is a valued and vital member of our executive team. My prayer for you and many others
is that this book be a blessing and encouragement to the church.
Dr. David B. Wood
U.S. Director for SEND International
